Steve Jobs felt that face to face meetings were the most effective way to get leads and nurture potential customers and clients. What's your feeling on this? Where and when was the last face-to-face event you attended for your business?

I have been DYING to put a networking group/meeting together for a very long time, but something always prevents me from doing so. I honestly went to one networking meeting locally and it really wasn't what I would have hoped it would have been, which is probably the reason I want to do one myself because I saw that some things were missing. I am not even really sure how effective they really are. I'd like to get more involved and have more local contact since most of my clients are all online, I'd love to do face-to-face, seems to make it a lot more personal! :)

Absolutely! In the business I am in (music), so much of it is built on the relationships. It is really important to get out there and show your face! :)

And I think that when possible, it's crucial to surround yourself with women in your field, and also those doing different things. My 2 most helpful face to face groups are my writers group and another lunch group I call Trifecta, 3 women in different fields who lunch once a month .... The perspective, friendship and support I get from both these groups is immeasurable.

I just attended a NAWBO luncheon yesterday and it was my first face to face networking event in a LONG time. I have been so busy and have taken the social networking for granted. I forgot how much i love interfacing and how important it is. It was a great experience and I am renewed to find some more local networking groups!
