Hey gals,
With tax time approaching, I'm wondering which business accounting software your prefer. Are most of you using Quickbooks? The students in my class are asking what's preferred, and I just wanted to do a quick poll to see what you all like best and why. Thanks for sharing

Ellen -
I use QuickBooks. It is great because I just have to e-mail my QuickBook files to by accountant at the end of the year and our taxes are done within a couple of days. _________________ Janene Jaroscak

I am using Quick Books since that was what my accountant wanted me to use.
I had used Peachtree and she asked me to please switch. She then set it up and did an instructional with me. You may want to mention that their accountant may matter in their decision.

I plan on using Quickbooks because so many people have recommended it. But I also learned that a lot of accountants use SimpleAccounting (?) _________________ TUMAINI RIVERA

I have Quickbooks. I just started using it this year but have had it since 2007. I was very scared to use it but realized I was spending way too much time come tax time trying to figure out what my profits/loses were. Now I have reached a place in my life and business that I just set aside one hour or so to enter in a months worth of expenses/profits and it is done until next month and then I can see instantly where/how my money is spent and where it is coming from. I don't know what I was so afraid of before but I am glad I am over that fear! _________________ Phyllis Pometta

| Hope I am not too late for the topic. I use Quickbooks and have always referred it to clients. I do have to admit that QB is weak when it comes to accounting for inventory. It does not allow for LIFO or FIFO to calculate COGS. It uses an average cost. |
